Strategies in Ethnic Conflict

In 1997 Gevorg Ter-Gabrielyan participated in the 'Preventing Violent Conflict in Europe' project at Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (which was then situated in Ebenhausen). This book and the publication in it resulted from that research.

In those year, not everybody understood that the nature of violent ethnic conflict is zero-sum. Even today not everybody understands that. Ethnic conflicts can be manipulated by powers, however, once unleashed, it is difficult to imagine that they will subside or that one side will agree to yield, unless crashed.
